Queen Creek has opened the Gail A. Barney Public Safety Support Facility on Wednesday, transforming a former sports complex into a nearly 65,000-square-foot hub for the town's fire and police departments. "Renovating this building provided us an opportunity to realize cost savings while honoring our history and reinforcing our commitment to public safety and serving our growing community," said Mayor Wheatley, according to the Town of Queen Creek.

The facility, located at 22050 E. Queen Creek Road near the Field Operations Facility and Frontier Family Park, includes spaces for police evidence storage, fire apparatus maintenance, and public safety training. Named in honor of Mayor Gail A. Barney, the center reflects Queen Creek’s strategy of repurposing existing buildings to enhance emergency response while managing costs efficiently, as reported by the Town of Queen Creek.

The Town of Queen Creek’s new public safety facility was designed by Arrington Watkins Architects and built by FCI Construction. The shared building includes a space for firefighter turnout gear cleaning and houses both fire and police departments. Updates and more information are available on the Town of Queen Creek’s website and social media, and questions can be directed to Public Information Officer Jennifer Lamis.
