As schools in Raleigh close due to inclement weather, the city’s Parks Department is offering a childcare option for parents in need. The Raleigh Parks Weatherbound program provides children with a place to spend the day participating in various activities under professional supervision.
According to an announcement on the City of Raleigh's official website, the Weatherbound program is all set to entertain children with "games, crafts, and active fun." It's a one-day respite for parents that rings in at a cost of $40 per child. From 10 a.m to 5 p.m., kids can be dropped off at any of the three participating locations – Abbotts Creek, Jaycee, and Barwell.
Raleigh parents opting to use the program must register in advance to ensure their child's spot. Every location is prepared to accommodate children with a full schedule of activities designed to keep them entertained and engaged while school is out for the day.
For those interested in learning more about the program or looking to reserve a spot for their child, more information is available on the Raleigh Parks' website.
