In a significant crackdown on illegal pot farming, Riverside County sheriff's deputies uncovered a large-scale marijuana grow house in Eastvale on Wednesday. According to law enforcement officials, over 2000 marijuana plants were confiscated from a residence on Leanne Street, highlighting a million-dollar black market operation.
While performing a search warrant at approximately 4:17 p.m., deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station and Eastvale Special Enforcement Team discovered the sophisticated cultivation system. This raid not only yielded a substantial quantity of illegal cannabis but also exposed a significant theft of utilities, amounting to an estimated $145,000 loss. The representatives from Southern California Edison and the Eastvale Code Enforcement Team, dealing with the scene, found several code violations related to the property.
In pursuit of the individuals behind this operation, the Eastvale Special Enforcement Team has taken the lead on the ongoing investigation. As the probe presses forward, information regarding suspects remains elusive, with no additional details being made public at this time. The authorities are urging anyone with insights into the incident to step forward and contact Deputy Guerrero at the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station.
In the wake of the seizure, the economic repercussions are clear – the street value of the plants seized stands at over one million dollars. Affected by the illegal grow house's operations, Southern California Edison has been left to account for the massive utility theft, with the investigation shedding light on the darker corners of the ostensibly legal weed industry in California.
