In a press release from Rowan County, officials have announced the opening of their grant application season for local organizations aiming to support youth at risk of entering or already involved in the juvenile justice system. The Rowan County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) is inviting proposals from public agencies, non-profits registered under the 501(c)(3) designation, and local housing authorities. The intent is to bolster services that address the needs of this vulnerable population during the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
With a budget of approximately $91,694 earmarked for this initiative, the JCPC is prioritizing programs that demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based, outcome-driven strategies. Among the services to be funded are mentoring, skill-building, shelter care, substance abuse counseling, and restorative justice practices. However, it is required that applicants provide a 30% local match, for the utilization of these funds.
Eligible organizations that wish to apply will need to submit their proposals through the online portal NC ALLIES. The deadline for submission has been set for February 3, at 5:00 PM. More details on the application process can be found at the Rowan County official website.
