The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a man on multiple counts of child sex crimes, a case that began unfolding in May 2024. Christopher Brinson, the individual accused, was taken into custody in Alabama on December 9, 2025, and has since been charged with 23 felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. He is currently detained at the Sacramento County Main Jail without bail. The arrest comes after a social worker alerted authorities when a teenage patient disclosed being sexually abused by Brinson, a relative, between the ages of 6 and 10, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
Following a comprehensive investigation by the Sheriff's Office Child Abuse Bureau, which lasted several months, multiple victims have been identified. With the suspected abuse spanning over 30 years and just recently being arrested, the office believes that there are additional unreported victims out there, some of whom might have been acquaintances of Brinson's children. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the public in search of further information to aid their ongoing investigation.
An older photograph from the year 2000 and Brinson's current booking photo have been disseminated to the public due to concerns that they may be recognized from different periods in the victims' lives. His history of residence is extensive; he has lived in various locales throughout Sacramento County, Northern California, other states like Montana and Alabama, and notably in cities such as Visalia, Stockton, and Farmersville within California. This widespread geographic footprint raises concern for the potential of additional, yet unidentified victims spread across these regions.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office is keen to speak with anyone who may have information that can shed light on this case or lead them to other victims. Encouraging the public's help, they've provided contact details for the Child Abuse Bureau at (916) 874-5191 or via email at [email protected]. By releasing Brinson's past and current photographs, the detectives voice their concerns that victims may only recognize him from certain periods of their life. The Sheriff’s Office wishes for anyone who may suspect they were a victim or know of others who might have been to come forward.
