On Christmas Day, a brutal attack unfolded in San Antonio that left a father and his son seriously injured. According to FOX San Antonio, the incident occurred on Castle Hunt Drive following a confrontation that spiraled into violence, involving a stabbing and an assault with a baseball bat.
62-year-old Ruben Licea has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Prior to the attack, the victim's father confronted Licea regarding an attempt to steal his catalytic converter. Later, Licea returned with two associates, after allegedly being punched by the father, his intent, according to Licea's statement obtained by FOX San Antonio, was to "kick his ass." The suspects fled the scene afterwards, and it remains unclear if further arrests are expected.
In a separate report by KENS 5, Licea was arrested last week following the attack which took place just before 1:30 a.m. during a Christmas celebration. The encounter left the 56-year-old father with a stab wound to the chest, and his son with a head injury after being struck with a baseball bat.
Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries. Licea, now in jail, is being held on a $75,000 bond for the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Details regarding the involvement and possible apprehension of the two other suspects have not been disclosed by police, according to KENS 5.
