
Austin police are asking southeast Austin neighbors to keep their eyes peeled as the search intensifies for a 69-year-old man who has been missing for more than two weeks. Bernard Johnson was last seen around 10 a.m. on Jan. 6 in the 6800 block of Riverside Drive and has not been heard from since. Police say his medical conditions, combined with an incoming winter storm, make his safety an urgent concern.

Johnson is described as a Black male, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 165 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange hat, a black jacket, and yellow boots, according to CBS Austin. Officers are urging anyone who sees him to call 911 immediately.
Police voice concern over health and weather
"We are concerned for Johnson's immediate welfare," police said, citing his health conditions and the "upcoming severe weather in the area," according to CBS Austin. Authorities say his medical vulnerability, paired with the forecasted storm, adds extra urgency to the search.
