St. Charles County has launched its first sticker contest, inviting the public to vote on designs submitted by local middle-school students. The "I Voted" stickers, marking America’s 250th anniversary, will be used in the 2026 elections starting in April. The online poll will be open from Thursday to January 22, according to the county's release.

Starting Thursday, residents can vote on the Election Authority website to select their favorite from twelve finalist designs. More than 220 entries were submitted, highlighting the creativity of the county’s middle-school students. Each design offers a unique take on the historic milestone.

Elections Director Kurt Bahr said the submissions were impressive and reflected the students’ enthusiasm for the 250th anniversary. The twelve finalists, selected anonymously to ensure impartiality, represent six different schools across the county, including homeschool students.

Copies of the winning design will be displayed at polling places throughout the year, with credit given to the artist. The Election Authority will also create a large-scale version of the sticker outside their office in St. Peters. The finalist designers, ranging from sixth to eighth grade, were recognized for creatively capturing the 250th anniversary theme.

The gallery will be open to the public during absentee voting periods for the April municipal elections, as well as the August and November elections.
