Early on a Monday morning last week, tragedy struck at a Cambria Hotel room in Austin, where a young man was found dead following a gunshot. Officials identified the victim as Luke Bradburn, and police have since arrested Maximillian Salinas in connection with the homicide, as reported by the Austin Police Department's official statement.
Authorities were summoned to 68 East Avenue #824 after a call came in around 6:55 a.m. about a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered Bradburn with significant injuries, and the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene by 7:33 a.m. The case has been marked as Austin's third homicide of 2026. Further investigations uncovered that Bradburn had been driving a vehicle belonging to Salinas earlier that day, a vehicle he subsequently crashed. The event led to Bradburn, along with other occupants, fleeing back to the hotel where the fatal shooting occurred.
Salinas, a 20-year-old Hispanic male, was arrested the following day and is now facing a murder charge. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists have been meticulously processing the scene and conducting interviews to piece together the details surrounding Bradburn's death. The Austin Police are urging anyone with information to step forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
