
A deputy from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office was injured during a domestic violence call in the Village of Lisbon when a suspect allegedly sent his dog to attack the officer, as per the department's social media release. The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, and the deputy, who hasn't been named, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and received treatment at a local hospital, according to the official post by Lieutenant Nicholas Wenzel of the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office.
Around 7:21 p.m. on Oakwood Road, deputies responding to a domestic incident were confronted by the suspect’s dog. One deputy used deadly force to stop the animal. The 64-year-old suspect was detained and faces charges including battery of a law enforcement officer using a dangerous weapon. The dog was killed to prevent further injury.
The deputy is recovering, and the suspect was taken to Waukesha County Jail. The incident highlights the risks law enforcement officers face during domestic calls.
