Webster Police Department officers and Webster EMS paramedics collaborated in a life-saving effort, as they successfully revived a man who had become unconscious at a local establishment. The incident occurred at the Swinging Chicken Saloon on Lake Street, where the man reportedly fell out of his chair and was found not breathing. In a detailed social media post from the Webster Police Department, Massachusetts, the precise actions of those involved were recounted.
The call came in on Monday, December 29, just after 7 pm. Sergeant Sean Ebbeling, and Officers Francheska Cedeno and Thomas Motyka were the first to respond to the scene. Officer Cedeno initiated CPR, while her colleagues quickly set up an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), advising and delivering a shock. Despite their efforts, the man, unfortunately, remained without breath. The web of life extended as Lt. Jess Marshall, Andrew Godfrin, Errol Defreita, and EMT Tim Ferry of the Webster Paramedics took over, employing the Lukas machine to maintain consistent chest compressions during the critical transport to UMASS University Hospital.
It was a race against the clock, but the intensive care efforts bore fruit. The unnamed man regained consciousness and started breathing independently once he was secured inside the ambulance.
Webster’s community-based public safety is built on long-standing teamwork. Webster EMS has provided AEDs to the police for decades, making life-saving cooperation routine.
