A chilling end to the year unfolded at Fort Worth's Lake Como Park, where a woman allegedly shot and killed her ex-boyfriend following a dispute. The incident, reported by DFW Scanner and CBS News, took place on Wednesday, when Fort Worth police responded to the 3400 block of Lake Como Drive.
Officers found a male victim on a walking bridge with gunshot wounds to his torso. Despite medical personnel's efforts on scene, the man, who has not been publicly identified, was pronounced dead. The victim and the alleged shooter were previously involved romantically and reportedly engaged in both a verbal and a physical altercation before the shooting, according to the police statement.
Before the fatal event, the woman reportedly tried to seek help, asking witnesses to call 911, claiming she had been assaulted. She was subsequently detained by officers and sent to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. Homicide detectives are actively investigating the case, with the ultimate cause and manner of death to be determined by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
