A chaotic scene unfolded at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas on Friday when a hospital visitor assaulted two emergency medical technicians (EMTs). The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. and began with the woman, later identified as 57-year-old Tracy Ann Davidson of Clackamas, becoming violent towards the nursing staff before striking an EMT with her hand and then with a bag containing a white powder that dispersed into the air. According to the social media post by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, the powder is believed to be a controlled substance, and one EMT was treated for symptoms consistent with an overdose.
Clackamas Fire responded to hazardous materials concerns, though the situation was contained quickly with no additional injuries reported. The suspect had fled before deputies arrived on Friday; however, Davidson returned to the Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center the following day. On Saturday, at around 9:10 a.m., hospital staff notified the authorities of her presence, and deputies arrested Davidson on assault charges, disorderly conduct, and harassment, as per the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office's release.
While details about the motive for the assault or the relationship between Davidson and the patient she was visiting remain unclear, the Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking tips and additional information regarding the case.
