Residents of Atlanta can expect a mixed bag of weather conditions in the coming days, starting with showers likely before the afternoon today. According to the National Weather Service, the showers should clear up by midday, making way for a high near 65 degrees with potential wind gusts up to 25 mph. By tonight, skies will be mostly clear resulting in a drop to around 37 degrees.
The sunny streak is set to continue into Thursday with a high of around 62 degrees, and a light northwest wind. However, in true Atlanta fashion, there isn't long before the weather does another switch-up. By Thursday night skies will veer towards mostly cloudy, with temperatures dipping to the low 40s.
Friday heralds more sunshine and a high once again near the 62-degree mark, providing residents a brief solace before the clouds roll in, as reported by the National Weather Service. Moving into the weekend, a 30 percent chance of showers is predicted after 1 pm on Saturday with highs lingering in the low 60s.
The real downpour is expected to hit Saturday night where chances of precipitation ramp up to 80 percent, with continuous showers anticipated into Sunday. Temperatures on Sunday will hover around the 60-degree mark, albeit amidst the rain. Come Sunday night, chances of showers drop but still linger at around 50 percent, and the low is expected to be near 47 degrees.
Looking ahead to Washington's Birthday, the forecast promises an uptick with mostly sunny skies and a comforting high near 64 degrees. Tuesday is predicted to be partly sunny with the temperature nudging a little higher, to a pleasant 67 degrees.
