Residents of Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach, and Tierra Verde remain under a boil water notice from Pinellas County Utilities while water quality tests continue. The notice will stay in effect until the water is confirmed safe to drink.

Until the boil water notice is lifted, residents are advised to boil tap water for at least one minute or use bottled water for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth, according to Pinellas County. Cloudy water should be filtered through a clean cloth, paper towel, or coffee filter before boiling to remove any potential contaminants.

For those without a stove or microwave, residents can disinfect water by adding 1/8 teaspoon of plain, unscented bleach per gallon and letting it sit for at least 30 minutes. The county says these measures are temporary until water quality is confirmed through testing.

Pinellas County Utilities will notify residents once water is safe to drink for at least two consecutive days. Until then, residents should continue using boiled or bottled water.
