A Bronx man has been indicted on charges of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man on his way to work. According to the Bronx District Attorney's office, 38-year-old Sean Jones was arraigned on Tuesday, with his next court appearance scheduled for March 17. District Attorney Darcel D. Clark provided details about the January incident, noting that a man was killed.

The attack took place on January 5, around 1:55 p.m., along Third Avenue between East 157th and East 158th Street. While walking to work, 53-year-old George Ennin was allegedly stabbed multiple times by Jones, including a strike to the heart. Ennin was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals Lincoln, where he later died from his injuries.

At the arraignment, presided over by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Pamela Goldsmith, Jones was also charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The prosecution, led by Assistant District Attorney Sara Jacobson with supervision from senior officials, is ongoing.

District Attorney Clark acknowledged the contributions of NYPD officers and detectives involved in the investigation, including members of the 40th Precinct, the Bronx Homicide Unit, and the NYPD Bronx Video Collection Unit. Investigator Walter Holmes of the Department of Correction Central Intelligence Bureau also assisted in building the case against Jones, which is now proceeding to court.

Clark also recognized the support personnel who helped prepare for the trial and assisted the victim's family. Further updates in the case are expected following Jones’s court appearance in mid-March.
