If You Witnessed The Attack
NYPD reporting guidance asks witnesses to pay close attention to a suspect’s clothing, any notable features and the direction in which the person ran. The department also urges people to note whether anyone recorded video of the incident and to preserve any footage so investigators can collect it.
If someone is in immediate danger, police say you should call 911. Otherwise, witnesses and tipsters can share what they know anonymously with Crime Stoppers so detectives can follow up on the case.
