Smalls Sliders is gearing up to roll its drive-thru "Cans" into north Oklahoma City after Slide Thru, a local franchise group led by entrepreneur Kyle Abrusley, signed a multi-unit development agreement to bring several of the chain’s compact sites to the area. The move follows the brand’s first Oklahoma debut in Tulsa last fall and marks another rapid expansion step for the chain. Operators say specific locations and grand opening dates will be shared in the coming weeks, according to News 9.
Slide Thru Signs Second Deal For OKC
As reported by News 9, the new agreement is Slide Thru’s second development deal with Smalls Sliders and will place multiple Cans across north Oklahoma City. According to the outlet, exact sites and a grand opening timeline will be announced in the near future. The report notes that the local franchise group plans to oversee both development and day-to-day operations for the new locations.
Operator Behind The Expansion
In a press release via International Franchise Association, Smalls Sliders and Slide Thru said the deal builds on the group’s initial agreement and the brand’s Tulsa debut. Abrusley stated, “Signing a second agreement allows us to build on that foundation,” and the release adds that his team will take an active role in the day-to-day operations for each Can that opens in the metro.
Tulsa Debut Gave A Preview
Abrusley opened Smalls Sliders’ first Oklahoma Can in Tulsa at 619 W. 71st St. S., which hosted a ribbon-cutting and community event at its Sept. 16, 2025, grand opening, according to The Journal Record. The Tulsa Can pairs a compact drive-thru and walk-up container with patio seating and a tight menu of sliders, fries and shakes, offering a preview of what north Oklahoma City can expect.
What Smalls Brings To Town
Smalls refers to its locations as "Cans," described on the company’s about page as smorange shipping containers with a walk-up window or drive-thru. The concept focuses on made-to-order cheeseburger sliders, waffle fries, milkshakes and the chain’s signature "Smauce." The brand has been scaling rapidly through multi-unit development deals and, in industry releases and filings, lists investors including 10 Point Capital and former NFL quarterback Drew Brees.
What To Watch Next
For north Oklahoma City residents, the expansion means new quick-serve options and likely construction activity along busy retail corridors. Slide Thru says it will announce specific sites and opening timelines soon, per News 9. Hoodline will update this story as operators confirm addresses, hiring plans and grand opening events.
