Cleveland State University welcomes Dr. Chad Warren as the new vice president of Advancement and the executive director of its foundation, a position announced officially after a comprehensive national search. The CSU Board of Trustees, who are expected to ratify the appointment in their forthcoming meeting, have selected Warren for his notable achievements in philanthropy, particularly in his role as president and chief philanthropy officer at St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation in Las Vegas. There, he not only managed to significantly boost funds for the healthcare network but also earned accolades from the Children’s Miracle Network for his efforts.
Warren's track record speaks to a blend of academia and healthcare, poised now to turn his attention to higher education’s broader horizon. His past experiences span respectable higher education institutions and consulting. In preparation to officially join the Senior Leadership Team at CSU in March, Warren shared, “I have learned that philanthropy is personal and that it is the duty of any development professional to offer multiple ways to foster goodwill, helping each donor achieve their individual interests,” in a statement obtained by Cleveland State University News.
CSU President Dr. Laura Bloomberg expressed high hopes for Warren’s future contributions. “Dr. Warren is clearly passionate about the role that philanthropy plays in higher education, both for the students and the donors,” she remarked, according to a Cleveland State University News release. Warren's admissions at Dayton and Saint Leo for his undergraduate and MBA, respectively, followed by a Doctor of Public Policy from UNLV, position him well for the task ahead.
Cleveland State University News cites Mr. Michael Klein, the chair of the CSU Foundation’s Board of Directors and a CSU alumnus, who sees Warren’s appointment as a strong fit. “Dr. Warren’s career accomplishments in terms of reaching record levels of philanthropic attainment, forging corporate and community partnerships, and developing advancement department infrastructure and personnel strongly align with the strategic goals of the University and the Foundation,” Klein stated. In his new role, Warren will work closely with the CSU Foundation's board, managing an endowment critical for scholarships, faculty research, and various university programs.
