The collision happened close to County Road 138, where emergency crews blocked the northbound exit to SH 138 while they worked the scene. According to FOX 7 Austin, the Texas Department of Public Safety said troopers and Williamson County deputies responded to the crash on SH 195 near CR 138 on Monday. FOX 7 reported that one lane of SH 195 remained closed while the northbound exit for SH 138 was shut down and expected to stay closed for several hours. Drivers were asked to find alternate routes while crews stayed on scene.

State Highway 195 runs northwest from Georgetown through Florence toward Killeen and has been the focus of recent realignments and safety work. Per the Texas Department of Transportation, TxDOT reconfigured segments of the corridor near Florence in recent years. Williamson County also notes ongoing projects on SH 195, including ramp work at Ronald Reagan Boulevard intended to improve safety along the corridor.
