According to information from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Hughes expressed his explicit and illegal desires to the undercover officer, under the guise of normalcy. He not only vocalized his intentions but also sent explicit photos and videos of himself with the request to show them to the supposed child. On May 1, 2025, he was to meet the non-existent child and was arrested upon arrival, teddy bear in hand, ready to commit the inconceivable.
