A low-key karaoke hideout has slipped into New Orleans' Lower Garden District, promising singalongs far from the Bourbon Street frenzy. Rockabye Karaoke is tucked into a courtyard behind Merchant House and is already taking bookings for birthdays, bachelor parties and other private gatherings.
Rooms, sound and BYOB
Rockabye currently runs three private rooms, each outfitted with premium sound, climate control and customizable lighting. The spaces hold roughly 10, 15 and 25 guests, depending on which room you reserve. The venue supplies mixers, cups and ice but does not sell alcohol, and guests are encouraged to bring their own drinks, according to Rockabye Karaoke.
Pricing and the founder
Room rates are reported at about $15 per person per hour, with most bookings carrying a two-hour minimum. Founder Ben Miller told Axios New Orleans he had wanted to open Rockabye in the city for years and would like to expand into a larger space if demand keeps building.
Booking, hours and rules
Rockabye recommends booking ahead, especially on weekends, and notes limited walk-in availability during early February. The venue enforces a 21-plus policy after 6 p.m. The FAQ on the site explains how to find the courtyard entrance off Magazine Street, breaks down booking and buyout options, and lists current hours and house rules, per Rockabye Karaoke.
Where it fits in NOLA's nightlife
New Orleans' karaoke scene has long leaned on raucous Bourbon Street staples like the Cat's Meow, but Rockabye's private-room approach offers a different kind of night out for groups that want a more contained, reservation-driven experience, as Axios New Orleans notes. Miller says the setup works for both shy singers and spotlight hogs, positioning Rockabye as a flexible option for local nightlife and visiting krewes.
If you are planning a group outing, booking early is wise, since the small number of rooms can fill up quickly on weekend nights. For booking details and available times, check the venue's listing and local coverage.
