Hillsborough County is pushing its spring application deadline from Sunday to Friday, granting a five-day extension for those racing against the original timeline.
The program, which is accessible via HCFL.gov/FSBDC, is geared towards nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit and fleshing out the concepts that reside in the hearts and minds of potential business owners. This upcoming class marks the 12th iteration since the initiative's 2021 inception, speaking to its established history of fostering local commerce. Participants are privy to online evening classes through Hillsborough County's Entrepreneur Services, with a fully laid out calendar detailing dates and times for each session.
Participants in the no-cost program will learn how to build a small business from the ground up, including analyzing their industry, understanding their target market, and assessing competitors. The curriculum covers practical aspects of finance, marketing, and operations, helping attendees create a confident, workable business plan.
The program also encourages community and networking among aspiring entrepreneurs. Applications are required, and space is limited. The deadline has been extended to Feb. 20. Eligibility is based on household income, ranging from $31,300 for an individual to $75,300 for a household of five in 2025.
