Hillsborough County has made a strong statement against drug trafficking following the high-profile case of Glen Booth Jr. The 35-year-old man was sentenced to an 18-year term in Florida State Prison for his role as a major distributor of methamphetamine and fentanyl in the area, according to a post on the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
The announcement came after an extensive undercover investigation by #teamHCSO detectives pinpointed Booth's activities in the narcotics trade. Arrested on October 1, 2025, Booth was caught selling large quantities of drugs to detectives over several operations. His conviction was seen as a win for local authorities, who have been tackling the opioid crisis that has significantly impacted the community. Sheriff Chad Chronister was quoted in the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's Post, “Let this sentence send a clear message: if you profit from poisoning our community, you will be held accountable."
Booth was sentenced on Tuesday, following an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Opioid Overdose Investigations Section. Sheriff Chad Chronister credited his team’s relentless work to get dangerous narcotics off our streets.
