Montage Kapalua Bay has quietly brought back The Hideaway, turning the resort’s indoor-outdoor lounge into a warm, sunset-facing perch above Kapalua Bay. The refreshed space leans into wood finishes, open-air seating and a bar positioned for prime golden-hour views, with an easygoing lineup of small plates and cocktails aimed at both resort guests and nearby residents.
Reimagined Lounge and Nightly Music
According to Maui Now, The Hideaway now features live Hawaiian-inspired music every night from 7 to 9 p.m., giving the lounge a built-in soundtrack that lines up neatly with sunset. The outlet notes that the menu focuses on signature cocktails built with local spirits and seasonal ingredients, paired with small share plates meant for lingering over the view rather than rushing through a meal.
Dedicated Mai Tai Menu
The Hideaway’s relaunch is anchored by a dedicated Mai Tai menu, headlined by an “Ultimate Mai Tai” that mixes Brum Solera rum, Ferrand dry curaçao and a sugar-cane Dane macadamia nut orgeat. As outlined by Montage Kapalua Bay, the cocktail program leans island-forward and spotlights locally produced spirits, linking the resort’s bar offerings directly to Maui’s broader craft-spirit scene.
Local Partnerships and Keepsakes
The Ultimate Mai Tai features Brum Solera alongside spirits from Ocean Organic Farm & Distillery, a farm-to-bottle producer that grows its own sugar cane and distills on-island. Per Ocean Organic Farm & Distillery, the operation offers farm tours, tastings and a lineup of vodka and rum made from Maui-grown cane. Guests who order the Ultimate Mai Tai receive it in a custom keepsake tiki glass hand-blown by Ryan Staub of Moana Glass, tying the bar program directly to local artisans.
When to Go
The Hideaway’s full menu and current hours are posted on Montage Kapalua Bay, with the venue pitched as a casual, walk-in-friendly evening option for both resort guests and locals. Expect sunset-facing seating and a laid-back bar program built around Maui flavors, geared toward the slow part of the day rather than the late-night rush.
