A 36-year-old man, Jonathan Jones, is in custody following a series of vandalism and assault incidents across several Midtown Manhattan businesses on Valentine’s Day. According to ABC7NY, the incidents began around 2:30 a.m. at Uncle Jack's Steakhouse on 9th Avenue, where security footage shows him forcibly entering the establishment using a barrier.

Muhammed Yaseen, the General Manager of Uncle Jack's Steakhouse, reported that the incident caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage. After forcibly entering the bar and throwing a bottle of gin, Jonathan Jones continued to a nearby hotel and then to a 7-Eleven, where he discharged a fire extinguisher.

Further reporting by PIX 11 indicated that Jones’s spree also affected B&W Deli & Pizzeria, where he pushed counters and merchandise. The incidents continued at the Interfaith Retreats Hostel, where he physically confronted an employee and took a fire extinguisher.

Adi Purusha of Interfaith Community Services commented on the incident, noting the broader social concerns involved. Jonathan Jones now faces charges including burglary, robbery, and reckless endangerment.
