Morrell D. Johnson, also known as "Money," was sentenced to 262 months in federal prison for human trafficking, drug-related offenses, and illegal firearm possession. The 35-year-old Milwaukee man had previously pled guilty to Sex Trafficking involving six adult survivors, Maintaining a Drug-Involved Premise, and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. The sentence was issued by U.S. District Court Judge J.P. Stadtmueller, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office release.
Johnson exploited women struggling with addiction, offering shelter, protection, and access to heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl, then coerced them into commercial sex and controlled the proceeds. Violence and forced drug administration were used against those who resisted.
Authorities said Johnson used manipulation and threats, including physical violence, firearms, and intimidation tactics. One incident involved killing a dog to intimidate victims. Judge Stadtmueller described the actions as serious and stated the sentence is intended to deter similar crimes.
FBI Milwaukee Special Agent in Charge Alan Karr noted the sentencing coincides with National Human Trafficking Prevention Month and highlighted the role of law enforcement in addressing human trafficking. Oak Creek Police Chief David Stecker acknowledged the survivors’ role in the case and the importance of continued efforts against trafficking.
The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the FBI, Oak Creek Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and Green Bay Police Department. Officials emphasized that collaboration among federal, state, and local law enforcement was key to holding Johnson accountable.
