Oklahoma City residents can look forward to a stretch of sunny weather, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS). With clear skies dominating the week's outlook, the city is experiencing an early hint of spring, despite the chilly mornings that remind us winter has not fully retreated.
The NWS reports today's sunny skies come with a high near 74 degrees, accompanied by a brisk south southwest wind that could kick up gusts as high as 24 mph. Evening temperatures are expected to remain mild, with a clear nighttime sky and lows around 54 degrees, and windy conditions continuing.
Thursday's weather is slated to be sunny with a high near 66 degrees, as stated by the NWS. Residents should anticipate winds picking up, traveling from the west at 14 to 20 mph and capable of gusts reaching up to 30 mph. This shift comes ahead of a cooler night, with a low dropping down around 33 degrees.
For Friday, forecasters expect another sunny day with a high near 59 degrees, and winds transitioning to a more easterly direction in the afternoon. The upcoming weekend will maintain this pattern, with the NWS predicting a high of 53 degrees on Saturday and climbing slightly to 55 degrees by Sunday, all under sunny skies.
Early next week, the city should see temperatures ranging from a daytime high near 56 degrees on Monday to a climb to 67 degrees by Tuesday. The evenings will follow suit, with mainly clear conditions and the mercury fluctuating between lows in the upper 20s to mid-30s.
Oklahoma City's sun-filled forecast seems to be a welcome departure from the typical cold snap usually experienced this time of year, providing residents with ample opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities and break from the indoor confinement that often accompanies the chillier months.
