
Overnight gunfire outside an east Fort Worth convenience store left one person wounded yesterday, adding another violent chapter to a corridor that has seen more than its share of trouble.
Police said officers were called to a store in the 3500 block of Miller Avenue, where they found one person hurt. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound and is expected to survive.
What the police reported
Officers arrived at the scene at about 1:10 a.m. after callers reported multiple gunshots and screams at the convenience store near a Texas Department of Public Safety office, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The wounded person showed up at a nearby hospital and is expected to survive, the outlet reported.
Investigation
Detectives with the Fort Worth Police Department’s Gun Violence Investigations Team have been assigned to the case, and no arrests have been announced.
