Downtown Phoenix is set to rumble on Saturday, March 14, when Red Bull's Showrun brings Formula One cars, drifting, and burnouts to a short stretch of East Jefferson Street. The free, family-friendly demonstration will transform part of downtown into a temporary spectator course and is expected to draw a big crowd. Organizers say the stop is part of Red Bull's 2026 U.S. Showrun tour that brings F1 machinery and motorsports athletes into city centers.
According to Red Bull, the Phoenix stop will take over E Jefferson Street between S Central Avenue and S 5th Street and run from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. PST. The event page notes admission is complimentary and the showcase is open to all ages. The listing also frames Phoenix as one of several U.S. showcases on Red Bull's 2026 tour.
Joel Koester, executive director of the Phoenix Sports & Events Commission, said in a news release shared with ABC15 Arizona that "Phoenix has a rich motorsports history that has cultivated a passionate racing community across the Valley." ABC15 reports fans will see "burnouts, precision drifting maneuvers, dynamic F1 performances" and that F1 showcars at the event will be piloted by Nikola Tsolov and Scott Speed. The event is presented by Ford Racing and supported by Visa, Cash App, AT&T, Oracle and Armor All.
What to expect
The Showrun focuses on high-speed demonstrations rather than head-to-head racing, so spectators should be ready for loud, fast passes and dramatic drifting maneuvers. As Bring Ear Protection warned during a San Francisco preview, earplugs are a good idea for children and anyone sensitive to noise. Fan zones with merchandise and interactive activities will be set up near the course, offering places to browse between runs.
Plan your visit
There are no tickets or assigned seating, and organizers recommend arriving early to secure a viewing spot and using public transit or rideshare for downtown access. Personal cameras are allowed, but the use of drones is prohibited, according to Red Bull. Expect crowds to cluster along sidewalks near the course, and if you need accessible viewing or have special concerns, check local traffic advisories before heading downtown.
