Sanford police are asking locals to keep an eye out for 48-year-old Rudolph Peter Reimonenq III, who investigators say has active warrants for two counts of domestic battery. Officers released a recent photo along with a physical description, noting he is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs roughly 215 pounds. Authorities warned residents not to approach him and urged anyone who sees him to call 911 immediately.
According to a Sanford Police Department post, Reimonenq faces two counts of battery related to domestic violence, and officers shared a photo and identifying details to help the public recognize him. The post asks anyone with information to contact Central Florida Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS or call the Sanford Police non-emergency line at 407-688-5199.
Police advise caution
Authorities say Reimonenq should be considered wanted and potentially dangerous. They are stressing that residents should not try to detain or confront him themselves. Instead, law enforcement is urging people to immediately contact authorities and let trained officers handle any sighting so the situation does not escalate.
What the charges mean
Under Florida law, battery is defined as an intentional touching or striking, and it is classified as "domestic" when the alleged victim is a family or household member. Certain circumstances can elevate a battery charge to a felony and lead to tougher penalties and added protections for victims, according to the Florida statutes.
