The female agent observed the disturbance and went to the scene, where she encountered a group involved in a fight with a student.
While attempting to intervene and protect the student, the agent was stabbed in the calf. The agent, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Kings County Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. In a related development, News 12 Brooklyn reported that a “person of interest” has been taken into custody in connection with the stabbing. The school safety agent, 53 years old, was intervening in a fight between two students when the incident occurred. I.S. 285 Meyer Levin reportedly does not have metal detectors for student screening, highlighting the school’s current security measures.
