A Snohomish County neighborhood woke up to chaos early Friday after deputies say a 19-year-old showed up at a home, held a 17-year-old girl at gunpoint, and shot her mother multiple times when she tried to step in.
According to investigators, the suspect arrived at the residence, confronted the teen with a gun and, during a struggle, strangled her as she tried to disarm him. Her 38-year-old mother rushed in to protect her daughter and was shot several times before the suspect took off.
Deputies were called around 6:30 a.m. to the 7800 block of 206th Drive Southeast, where they found the wounded mother. First responders rushed her to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, HeraldNet reported.
Multi-agency search and arrest
The shooting kicked off a multi-agency manhunt. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office brought in K-9 teams and drones and teamed up with Snohomish and Monroe police to track the suspect. A short time later, Lake Stevens police spotted the suspect vehicle, pulled it over, and took the 19-year-old into custody without incident, according to FOX 13 Seattle.
Detectives seized the vehicle as evidence, and the suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

Authorities booked the suspect on a long list of domestic-violence and kidnapping-related charges, including first-degree assault (domestic violence), first-degree kidnapping (domestic violence), second-degree assault (domestic violence), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), and five counts of first-degree assault, according to HeraldNet.
