South End just picked up a new spot for cold-pressed fuel. The Juice Pod, a fast-casual wellness cafe known for its cold-pressed juices and acai bowls, quietly opened its first North Carolina outpost this month inside The Line on Hawkins Street. The counter-style shop hosted a community grand opening last Saturday, run by local owner-operator Mike Blank, who will also handle the day-to-day operations.
The new shop lists its address as 2151 Hawkins Street and its daily hours as 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to The Juice Pod. The brand leans into a health-conscious crowd with cold-pressed juices, superfood smoothies, acai bowls and toast-focused items geared toward quick lunches and snack breaks.
“Expanding to North Carolina has been a milestone for us,” founder Danielle Leonhardt said in a news release, according to reporting by the Charlotte Observer. That release puts the chain’s footprint at roughly 23 locations across the Northeast and Southeast as it stretches beyond its New Jersey roots.
Where It Fits In South End
The Juice Pod is tucked into the street-level retail at The Line, a 16-story mixed-use building that activates the Rail Trail and has attracted other food-and-beverage tenants, according to developer Portman. Its arrival adds a health-forward grab-and-go option to a stretch already crowded with lunch spots and brewery taprooms, giving Rail Trail regulars one more place to refuel between meetings or pints.
What To Order
Menu highlights cited in local reporting include a Coastal Bowl with pitaya and granola, an Avocado Crunch Toast and wellness shots such as a “liver flush” mix of grapefruit, beets and cayenne, per the Charlotte Observer. With counter service and weekday-friendly hours, the shop is positioned for quick breakfasts, post-workout pit stops and office lunches along the Rail Trail corridor.
The Charlotte location joins the brand’s existing footprint in Delaware, Florida and New Jersey, as shown on The Juice Pod. For now, the South End outpost adds another health-focused option to the neighborhood’s steadily expanding lunch and dinner scene.
