Strongsville’s planning powers have given a green light to Zest Pastry & Coffee Co., clearing the way for a new bakery-and-coffee spot at the northwest corner of West 130th Street and Albion Road. With the approval in hand, the small operation can add a cooler-and-freezer space and expand the existing storefront. The owners have not set a firm opening date yet as they shift into the permitting and construction grind.
As reported by Cleveland.com, the Strongsville Planning Commission signed off on Zest’s site plan at its Jan. 29 meeting. After the planned addition, the building is expected to come in at about 1,540 square feet on a parcel of roughly 0.5 acre. The project previously picked up approval in July 2025 for a roughly 200-square-foot cooler-and-freezer.
Footprint and approvals
The site-plan materials, which describe the operation as a drive-through in the application, keep Zest’s footprint modest but workable, according to Cleveland.com. With the cooler addition factored in, the building would total about 1,540 square feet, leaving room for a baking area and a small customer counter rather than a sprawling sit-down café.
Menu and owners
According to Zest's website, the shop pitches itself as a craft bakery and coffee bar that bakes pastries fresh each day and serves carefully prepared coffee, including cold brew and pour-over options. The business is listed in the Strongsville Chamber directory at the West 130th address, and the founders describe themselves as Strongsville natives who are eager to bring scratch baking to the neighborhood.
What's next
With planning approvals in place, the rest is the standard checklist: secure building permits, finish construction and clear inspections before doors can officially open. The owners’ site currently labels the Strongsville location as “Coming Soon,” and how soon that is will depend on how quickly those permits move through the city process.
