The Hilton Garden Inn in Loveland has been deemed unsafe and is currently uninhabitable, following a series of inspections that revealed significant interior structural issues. As reported by FOX19 NOW, the hotel was inspected by several agencies, including the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Clermont County Building Department, and Miami Township Fire & EMS. These inspections synchronistically uncovered the need for emergency repairs within the structure.
In adherence to safety protocols, the Miami Township Fire Department required the immediate evacuation of the premises to facilitate these emergency repairs, as outlined by WLWT. This action comes on the heels of an inspection by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on January 21, prompted by a safety complaint, although the specific issues necessitating the evacuation have not yet been disclosed to the public.
Further to the initial reports, efforts are already underway by the hotel's ownership to address the identified failings. A statement from the Miami Township Fire Department expressed that a repair plan and a timeframe for completion are being developed, although a definitive reopening date has yet to be established. Potential guests are suggested to visit the Hilton website for updates regarding reservation availability, which, as Local12 reports, currently shows no room bookings through March.
While the hotel remains vacant for the foreseeable future, information about the emergent structural concerns and the extent of the required repairs remains scant. The Miami Township Fire & EMS has conveyed that the establishment will be closed until it is deemed safe for guests and staff. Meanwhile, existing reservations are being proactively managed, with the hotel's recorded phone message informing customers that those with future bookings will be contacted. The situation is presently ongoing, and both the findings of the OSHA inspection and the progress of repair works remain under close scrutiny by the responsible authorities.
