Allegheny County detectives have charged three men in the December killing of 21-year-old Vanderlee Stevenson in Penn Hills, closing in on a case that started with a late-night shooting on the 200 block of Universal Road just before midnight on Dec. 5, 2024. The incident left Stevenson dead and another man wounded, officials said yesterday.
The fatal shooting was first reported in early December when first responders found Stevenson with multiple gunshot wounds. He was later identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner as Vanderlee Stevenson and pronounced dead, according to WTAE. Authorities say a second man later arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound and was reported in stable condition at the time.
Charges, arrests and how detectives say they built the case
Allegheny County police say interviews, surveillance video, and other evidence led detectives to identify 23-year-old Trevor Twyman, 24-year-old Kelshon Lovelace, and 18-year-old Lemoyne Williams as suspects. All three are charged with criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, and carrying a gun without a license, as reported by WPXI.
WPXI adds that Lovelace and Twyman were already in custody on unrelated charges when detectives moved to file the homicide counts. Williams was arrested yesterday and taken to the Allegheny County Jail pending arraignment.
