The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is reporting multiple traffic disruptions affecting major routes in the Tulsa area due to ongoing infrastructure projects. According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, on I-44, eastbound traffic is experiencing narrowed lanes and ramp closures at 193rd E. Ave. in Catoosa. In addition, State Highway 66 will be fully closed at Pine Street in Catoosa tomorrow, with detours in place that may cause delays.
Drivers traveling through the I-44 and SH-66 interchange should expect reduced lane widths and closed ramps. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation reports that the westbound I-44 off-ramp to northbound SH-66 is closed. Detoured traffic is being routed via the 165th E. Ave. exit, back onto eastbound I-44, and then to SH-66 northbound.
Long-term construction continues at the I-44 and U.S. 75 interchange, with work expected to last through the summer of 2028. Several ramps are closed in both directions, and detours are routed through I-244. Nearby, the westbound I-244 off-ramp to 2nd Street (west leg of the Inner Dispersal Loop) will remain closed through 2026 for bridge rehabilitation.
Additional delays are affecting U.S. 75, where traffic is reduced to one lane between 56th Street North and 66th Street North through the summer of 2026 for bridge work. In Sand Springs, State Highway 97 is experiencing intermittent lane closures through this month due to pavement reconstruction.
Short-term closures are also planned, including a left-lane closure on eastbound SH-51 (Broken Arrow Expressway) near 145th E. Ave. in Broken Arrow today for lighting repairs.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation advises drivers to monitor traffic updates and plan alternate routes when possible. Current road conditions and advisories are available on ODOT’s official traffic update page.
