A quiet stretch of northwest Charlotte turned into a crime scene yesterday when a person was critically injured in a stabbing on Capps Hill Mine Road, according to MEDIC. Paramedics were called just before 1 p.m. on Valentine’s Day and found the victim on the 300 block of the street. The patient was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
According to WSOC, MEDIC crews responded to the scene and discovered a person suffering from stab wounds. The agency said the injuries were life-threatening. WSOC reported that no additional details had been released at the time of its breaking update.
Neighborhood context
The stretch of northwest Charlotte that includes Capps Hill Mine Road has seen several serious incidents in recent weeks, keeping safety high on residents' list of worries. Hoodline recently covered the Carol Avenue killing earlier this month, just a short drive from Saturday's stabbing. At the same time, the broader crime picture is more complicated. A mid-year report highlighted by Queen City Nerve found that some measures of violent crime declined earlier in 2025, even as high-profile cases like this one keep grabbing headlines.
Responders on scene
Medic, the Mecklenburg EMS Agency that handles 911 medical calls in Mecklenburg County, dispatched crews to the scene, according to the agency’s website. Medic’s contact and media pages list the organization as the county’s primary 911 ambulance provider and include media relations channels for follow-up questions.
Investigation
Authorities have not released information about any suspects or a possible motive. WSOC described the situation as still developing. Local police typically release updates through official CMPD channels when investigators have more to share.
