Drive-thru coffee outfit 7 Brew is lining up a new shop on Hampton Avenue in St. Louis’ Cheltenham neighborhood, with plans to knock down a long-running fast-food building near Interstate 64 and replace it with the chain’s signature double-lane drive-thru. If the city signs off on the permits, the spot would become 7 Brew’s second location inside the St. Louis city limits.
City filings and ownership
According to KSDK, citing a St. Louis Business Journal report along with city and state records, the property at 1232 Hampton Ave is owned by Hunter Investment Properties LLC and once housed a Jack in the Box that went dark in 2022. The building has been around for more than 50 years, and the outlet reports it is slated to be demolished so 7 Brew can redevelop the site for its new drive-thru coffee stand. KSDK also notes that 7 Brew already operates about 15 locations in the broader region.
What 7 Brew brings
Per 7 Brew, the brand leans hard into fast service, highly customizable drinks and a double-lane drive-thru setup designed to move cars through quickly. The company already has a foothold in the city at 6536 Chippewa Street, where local reviews describe a steady rush-hour crowd. A Hampton Avenue outpost would push the chain’s regional footprint a bit farther and give caffeine hunters another option along a busy commuter corridor.
Timeline and what's next
KSDK reports that there is no public construction schedule yet, and the project can only move forward after the city signs off on required permits and planning approvals. The station notes that Hunter Investment Properties and 7 Brew will have to submit both demolition and building permit applications before any crews get to work. Neighbors and regulars along Hampton can expect to see permit notices and other signage on the property once that formal review process kicks off.
