Auburn Hills just leveled up its indoor sports scene. Greystone Pickleball Club has officially opened its doors, bringing a two-story, roughly 60,000-square-foot complex packed with 17 indoor courts and a centerpiece stadium court that seats more than 300 spectators. The facility also folds in luxury locker rooms, private event spaces, a full kitchen and bar, a pro shop, and even a rentable podcast studio. Operators say the club will host lessons, leagues, and open-play sessions for everyone from first-timers to highly competitive players.
Local outlets showed up to catch the debut. WXYZ offered an early walk-through of the courts ahead of opening, while ClickOnDetroit highlighted the open-play sessions that helped kick off the club’s first weekend.
What the club offers
According to the club’s online listings, Greystone puts 17 courts under one roof, including a championship stadium court with more than 300 spectator seats and VIP boxes. The facility also includes full locker rooms and private-event space tucked around the main playing areas.
The pricing breakdown on the site lists a $50 one-time initiation fee and a “Make Your Move” drop-in option priced at $20. The club says it does not use monthly memberships, and instead makes courts available to reserve through its booking portal. Coaching, tech and sightlines
Reporting from MLive notes that Greystone has staffed up with roughly 21 pickleball pros and wired its stadium court with PlaySight cameras. The system is set up for livestreaming, instant replay, scorekeeping, and analytics for players who want to review their game.
MLive also quoted the club’s director of pickleball operations describing extra room to move on every court, with about 8 feet from the sideline to the fence and around 10 feet from the baseline to the fence. The facility points to that generous runback as a safety feature that also improves viewing angles for spectators.
Why it matters for Metro Detroit
The all-indoor setup arrives in a state where winter quickly sidelines outdoor play, which is part of why the city backed the project when it approved site plans in 2024, according to the City of Auburn Hills. For local players used to scrambling for covered courts once the temperature drops, a dedicated year-round venue is no small upgrade.
Greystone is opening into a national boom in the sport. Industry tallies put pickleball participation at about 19.8 million players in 2024, a surge noted in national coverage and summarized by Time.
How to play
The club lists daily hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a mix of drop-in sessions, lessons, leagues, and private-event bookings on the calendar. Players are warned to expect busy peak times on weekends and are encouraged to check the online schedule and reservation portal before heading over with paddles in hand.
