Austin's Pinthouse Pizza is finally putting down roots in San Antonio, with its first local outpost headed for 5534 N. Loop 1604 W. The brewpub is aiming to start service as early as Monday, March 23, bringing its sourdough pies, shareable snacks and a serious beer program to the Northwest Side. The San Antonio spot is set to open with roughly 18 taps, counter service, and a lineup that includes flagship pours Electric Jellyfish Hazy IPA and Magical Pils Pilsner, plus rotating seasonal brews.
According to MySA, a preview of the space shows two main dining areas, a row of arcade games and multiple TVs, all anchored by an order counter up front for self-service. Behind that counter sit racks of merch and chilled to-go cans. Marketing director Robert Larry told MySA the team is targeting a soft launch on March 23, while acknowledging that last minute finishing work could nudge the debut.
Pinthouse's local footprint and the teaser
On paper, Pinthouse is still playing coy with San Antonio. The brand's official site continues to list the Alamo City location as "Coming Soon" and pegs the opening window as spring 2026 on its San Antonio page. As CultureMap San Antonio reported, the company has already teased the opening on Instagram, promising "award‑winning beer, handcrafted pizza, and a laid‑back space rooted in community." That social media push follows months of reporting and permitting activity around the busy I‑10 and Loop 1604 corridor.
Buildout, size and cost
State project records show the San Antonio Pinthouse is no small swing. The company is finishing out an existing 8,510 square foot shell and adding another 1,715 square feet plus several storage areas, with an estimated buildout cost of about 2.7 million dollars, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The Landmark North Pad address, along with listed owner and contractor contacts, underline the scale of the investment on the Northwest Side and help explain the roomy layout and sizable tap wall previewed ahead of opening.
Why San Antonio?
Pinthouse has been quietly building a fanbase in San Antonio for years. Its beers have been on local taps around town, and local industry voices say strong wholesale performance made a full brewpub a logical next step. As San Antonio Current reported, company leaders point to steady demand. "We've been distributing beer in the San Antonio market for the last four years," one co‑founder said, noting that consistent interest helped push the decision to open a dedicated spot here.
When to expect an official opening
For now, the company is threading the needle between excitement and caution. Pinthouse has warned that remaining construction and finishing touches could still affect the targeted soft launch date and has urged customers to watch its official channels for the final word on opening day. The San Antonio location page still labels the site as "Coming Soon" with a spring 2026 timeline, so locals will want to keep an eye on the brand's updates via the company's location page for a confirmed date.
