A welfare check request in Caledonia ended in tragedy Wednesday morning when officers located a 65-year-old woman, reported missing the night before, dead in a nearby park area in Oak Creek, officials said. Her family had contacted the Caledonia Police Department on Tuesday night, asking officers to look in on her, which led police to begin searching and to track down her vehicle, later found parked in the park.
According to TMJ4, Caledonia officers were called at about 8:54 p.m. Tuesday after family members requested the welfare check. Investigators discovered the woman’s unoccupied vehicle in an Oak Creek park and, working with the Oak Creek Police Department, brought in a K9 team and drones to comb the area. The woman was found the next morning, and Caledonia police told TMJ4 they do not suspect foul play.
