
A homicide investigation is underway in Seattle’s Capitol Hill after a 39-year-old man was found fatally stabbed inside a Melrose Avenue apartment Tuesday afternoon, according to police. Patrol officers were called to the 1600 block of Melrose at about 4:10 p.m., where Seattle Fire personnel later pronounced the man dead at the scene.
What police say
On March 24 at about 4:10 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a person down and found a 39-year-old man inside an apartment with multiple puncture wounds, according to SPD Blotter. Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation units processed the apartment while officers taped off the area. The case has been logged as incident number 2026-80860, and the King County Medical Examiner has taken custody of the body to determine the official cause of death and confirm the man’s identity.

Capitol Hill has weathered several high-profile violent incidents in recent years, even as overall homicides across King County dipped last year, according to The Seattle Times.
