Cookie lovers in Philly are getting their fix back. Blueprint Cookies has quietly slipped into a new name, rebranding as Cookie Head, and is relaunching its Pennsylvania shops this month. The Rittenhouse location is set to reopen on Saturday, March 14, followed by the Richboro shop on Saturday, March 21. Fans can still expect the same thick, bakery-style cookies that built the brand, now joined by soft-serve, milkshakes and a blended drink called the "Brain Freeze" that mixes in chunks of cookie or brookie. Inside, the stores are trading their old look for a brighter mix of purple, orange and pink.
Rittenhouse and Richboro reopenings
As reported by What Now, Cookie Head will flip the lights back on at its Rittenhouse shop on Saturday, March 14, with the Richboro location returning the following Saturday, March 21. The outlet also notes that the company’s other outposts in New Jersey, Florida and Dubai are gearing up to relaunch under the Cookie Head name as well.
New treats, same core cookies
Cookie Head says it is keeping its four "core cookies" intact, including chocolate chip, cookies and cream, sugar and chocolate peanut butter. Around that base, the menu is widening to include a brookie, a flourless chocolate cake, soft-serve and milkshakes. The company’s menu page highlights a monthly rotation of featured cookies and flags vegan and gluten-free options for those who need them. You can check the full lineup on the brand’s menu page here.
Why the change
Johnny Ciarlante, the chain’s chief operating officer, said the rebrand followed Cookie Head’s acquisition of a small cookie shop already using that name, describing the shift as "a natural evolution" for the business. Ciarlante told What Now that the goal was to keep cookies at the center of the brand while opening the door to more dessert options.
Where this fits in Philly's cookie boom
Philadelphia has turned into prime territory for both national cookie chains and local dessert experiments, a trend tracked by The Philadelphia Inquirer. Coverage of Cookie Head’s early growth notes that the brand’s first New Jersey shop, in Hamilton, drew long lines when it opened and highlighted the chain’s presence in both Philadelphia and Richboro. NJ101.5 reported on those Hamilton crowds and on the company’s transition away from the Blueprint name.
