
A deadly stretch of Wilkens Avenue in Southwest Baltimore saw more violence Thursday night when officers found a 50-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in the Mill Hill neighborhood. Police said the victim was discovered around 9:39 p.m. in the 2600 block of Wilkens Avenue and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
According to Fox Baltimore, homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. Officers are asking anyone with information to call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100. The station also reports that anonymous tips can be submitted to Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP or on its website.

Where it happened
The shooting unfolded along the 2600 block of Wilkens Avenue, part of Mill Hill’s long “Deck of Cards” rowhouse stretch that runs for roughly 1,800 feet. That unusually long block is noted in Baltimore City Planning Department documents, and it has seen serious incidents before.
