Enderis Park is about to get a new neighborhood hangout, courtesy of a hometown brewer who wants to bring his career full circle on West Center Street. Nick Guthery, a Milwaukee brewer who has logged time at Third Space and Broken Bat, has announced plans to open a new taproom called Tree Line Brewing Company in the Enderis Park neighborhood. His goal is to turn the spot into a casual gathering place on Center Street and to put roots back into the part of the city where he grew up, as reported by OnMilwaukee.

Guthery announced the brewery on social media

Guthery went public with the news on Tuesday in a Facebook post that opened, "Well friends some big news," and walked through his shift from firefighter and paramedic to craft brewer, according to OnMilwaukee. He told the site that after months of touring different properties he "fell in love with the building," though he stopped short of naming a firm opening date.

A local brewer with a growing résumé

Guthery has been brewing at Broken Bat in Walker’s Point since mid-2024 and is listed on the brewery’s site as head brewer, where he has led experimental releases and collaborations. Local TV segments have also spotlighted his work at Broken Bat, underscoring his role in recent releases and joint projects.

The Center Street space

Tree Line is planned for 7100 W. Center St., a corner retail property in Enderis Park. Commercial listings show the building was constructed in 1952 and has seen recent interior updates. A LoopNet listing for the address confirms the year-built information and parcel details, while local business directories indicate that organizations including Cayen Systems and RISE Youth & Family Services have had offices in the building in recent years.

What Guthery says he’ll focus on next

On Instagram, Guthery describes Tree Line as "focusing on sustainability" and has framed the project as a way to give back to the neighborhood where he grew up, according to OnMilwaukee. The site also quotes Broken Bat owner Tim Pauly, who said, "We’re happy for Nick and excited for him to have his own place after helping stabilize our beer program." Guthery has said he plans to stay on at Broken Bat through the summer while moving Tree Line forward, and he has tentatively circled Sept. 18 for a friends-and-family preview.

We will keep an eye on permit filings and local announcements as Guthery develops the project and will update readers once a public opening date or tasting schedule is released.
