Shooters in the Flats, the riverfront staple on Cleveland’s west bank, is set to reopen next Wednesday after an extensive renovation under new ownership. The relaunch will feature a revamped interior along with expanded programming, including brunch and live music, and a new waterfront stage and boat dock are expected in the spring. The return of the longtime summertime destination marks a new chapter for a Flats district that has been steadily reshaped by fresh development and new operators in recent years.

According to a news release reported by Cleveland 19, guests can see the transformation starting next Wednesday, and reservations are already open. The new ownership describes Shooters as a place meant to be "for everyone" with families by day, boaters in the afternoon, and concert crowds at night, and says the team brought the venue back to "celebrate the water" and its long-running legacy. Cleveland 19 also reports that a new waterfront stage and boat dock are expected to be ready by May 2026.

The reopening follows nearly a year of work after the restaurant quietly changed hands. TurnDev and investors that include Cleveland native Colson Baker, known professionally as Machine Gun Kelly, bought the business last year, as News 5 documented. TurnDev construction director Tom Flynn told News 5 that crews stripped the space down to its bones, replacing decks, redoing bars, and refitting the kitchen, and said, "We've sort of taken the best of the old and put it with the new." The overhaul is designed to keep Shooters’ nostalgic feel while adding upgrades meant to bring the waterfront venue up to date.

What's New Inside And On The Water

The new ownership team says the renovated layout will create more room for daytime dining and live programming, with brunch service on the way and an emphasis on events that run year-round rather than just in peak patio season. Per Cleveland 19, the waterfront stage and a boat dock are slated to be completed in May, a buildout meant to welcome both concert crowds and boaters pulling up to the riverfront. Reservations are available now through the restaurant’s booking system, a sign that owners are bracing for a busy opening weekend.

Why The Return Matters For The Flats

Shooters has been a summertime anchor on the Flats for decades, and its comeback is part restoration and part reinvention, a case of nostalgia meeting new investment, News 5 reports. Founder Roger Loecy told News 5 he is happy with the changes and predicted regulars "won’t recognize anything when they come down here," while the development team says the goal is to deliver a first-class waterfront product. If owners execute as planned, the revamped Shooters could help restore late-summer energy to the riverfront and give nearby eateries and bars a boost.
