As reported by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, officers said a male suspect fired at the occupied vehicle before taking off. The car was hit and sustained damage, but no one inside was injured. Police have not released the specific location of the incident.

After the shooting, the driver went to the Kapolei police station to file a report. Detectives there took the case and formally opened an investigation.
