Atlanta police have released new surveillance footage that shows a group of armed suspects sprinting away from the Ashley Cascade Apartment Homes after a March 16 shooting that left a 19-year-old woman wounded and a nearby building and vehicle riddled with gunfire.
Investigators say the woman’s injuries were non-life-threatening, but the video is now central to their hunt for the shooters. Detectives are urging anyone who recognizes the people in the clip to speak up as the search continues.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the footage shows multiple armed individuals running from the Ashley Cascade complex along Kimberly Road. Officers responding to the March 16 incident found the 19-year-old with a gunshot wound, and investigators say the video could be key to putting names to the faces seen in the recording. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest.
Complex's troubled record
The Ashley Cascade properties have a long and troubling history with violence and code issues. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that police logged 248 crimes at the two Kimberly Way addresses between 2017 and mid-2023.
